It is with much delight that we announce our 3rd precious son, Gannon Josiah TaeYang
Samberson.
Yes, it’s a mouthful, but what’s in the name…
Gannon – A ‘G’ name to fit in with the other guys in our family. We could not introduce another little guy without his name starting with a G. We just love Gannon.
Josiah – It says of King Josiah in the Bible that he “did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He lived the way King David had lived. He didn’t turn away from it to the right or the left” (2 Kings 22:2). This is our prayer for Gannon, Gavin, and Gareth…that they would walk closely with God, do what is right in His eyes, and make Him look good in all that they do. Oh, what a prayer, but with God all things are possible!
TaeYang – We wanted to hold onto this precious piece of his Korean heritage. It means “achieve a goal and lead a bright life”. Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future”.
Samberson – (from the eyes of Melinda) to see Gannon (and all our boys) carry on the wonderful Samberson name – one of integrity, honesty, and zeal for the Lord.
He was born on April 8th of this year so he’s about 5 ½ months old. He’s healthy and growing and developing normally. We can’t wait to meet him. Hopefully he’ll be home with us for Christmas. The wait is 3-6 months and all is dependant on getting the correct documents in place.
Thanks to all of you who have been praying us through this…praying for the hard times before we started the adoption process and through all of the paperwork, home study, and waiting. It is surreal to have a son half way around the world! We will hopefully get our act together and post some things on a blog to keep all of you updated on what’s going on with us.
For those of you who want to continue or want to join in, we would love to have your prayers.
Please pray:
· For the documents to get in place quickly so we can get travel clearance (the avg has been 3 months) before Christmas. We don’t want to travel over Christmas break – some of the few days Gavin has off during the school year.
· For us to wrap up the moving stuff and get a bit more settled before Gannon comes home.
· For the upcoming adjustment for all of us – obviously the biggest for Gannon – he will go through a grieving period and then an attachment phase that could be very difficult for him (and all of us!).
We are so thankful that God has chosen us to be this little boy’s parents…what an awesome privilege!
What a cute little guy. We are thrilled for you! I bet your other guys are so happy too. Isn't this such a wonderful time in life?!?!

What wonderful news for you. Sorry I was so secretive! We had to hold out until the family was told. I felt like such a LIAR!!!
