One Year Ago Today...

It's been 1 year since we started the entire process. Last Valentine's Day we sent our initial application to our agency and here we are today with this happy little fellow!!

He's doing fantastic despite 2 colds and a fever and managed to escape the flu when big brother had it. He's on the mend yet again and even though he's been sick more than he's been healthy in his (almost) 4 weeks with us, he's adapting well and making great strides. We had our first home study this week and the social worker was impressed by his progress. I was able to go to Gavin's Valentine Day party at school solo and Grandma and Gareth watched him while I was gone. He slept most of the time, but did really well when he woke up. He was very happy to see me when I got home! Very sweet!

Big brothers adore him and want to play with him all the time. Gareth (the one with the flu) was very excited to be able to 'touch' him again once he was better. He missed getting to hang with his little brother! The boys are able to get him to belly laugh pretty much anytime by singing silly songs and making crazy faces. Thankfully he doesn't mind their loudness!

We are so thankful to be the parents and family chosen by God for this precious little boy! He is truly a gift and is the perfect little boy for our family! Praise you Jesus!!

Thank you to all who have blessed us with meals and gifts - we are so thankful!! What a huge help, especially having sick little boys!

We love you all. Blessings, Melinda

  1. Oh my, what a cutie! I cannot imagine how stressful it must have been to have flu in your house...yikers. Glad that all are healthy now.
