A Day of Shopping and Meeting Family!

Hey All,

What a day!! Lots of shopping and great family time too!

We were able to meet my father's nephew and his family that live here in Seoul. What a blessing!! We had our friend Sue (who is Korean) translating for us which made this possible. They speak a little bit of English, but it would not have been enough to visit with them. They took us to a traditional tea house where we all sat on a heated floor - very comfy!! I had this awesome orange and lemon tea...very nice. After some shopping in Insadong they took us for a traditional Korean dinner...so much food and so yummy. By the time we finished eating Gary and I were starting to feel the time difference, afterall our body's thought it was 5am! We were also able to shop in Itaewon...it was fun bargaining with the owners...our friend Sue was a bit more skilled in this than us! She got us some awesome deals!

Everyone has been so friendly and we have enjoyed our visit so far. We do miss our little guys, Gavin and Gareth, and can't wait to see them on Tuesday morning!

Tomorrow we are going to do some sightseeing and then will have the privilege of meeting 2 of my aunts (who are coming from 5 hrs away!) and some more cousins for lunch and dinner. Pretty cool. We also brought our book 'When You Were Born in Korea' and are having the family members write messages to Gannon...we will have it translated to English when we return. What a cool thing for us and Gannon!

Well, I'm off to bed - I'm exhausted. Thank you all for the post comments and for your prayers and support! (Yvonne - yes, I think I'm delusional from sleep deprivation - probably not a lot of sleeping to be done on the plane!)

We will see Gannon on Monday at 2:30pm and we will receive him permanantly around 4pm! Can't wait! Please pray that he'll actually sleep on Monday night!!

Blessings to all of you, Melinda

P.S. Gavin and Gareth - we miss you so much! You are going to be such great big brothers and we can't wait for the 3 of you to be together. We also can't wait to kiss and hug you and love on you when we see you Tuesday morning!!

  3. Gary and Melinda,
So glad you are having fun in Korea. It certainly helps to have someone show you around town. On our first trip for Tucker, we had friends living in Seoul who took us around.

We are so excited you get Gannon the night before you leave. We got Tucker the night before. Of course, he screamed for 2 hours, but then fell asleep and slept all night between us.

We are thinking about you all weekend!
